Hi friends! After I posted a sneak peek photo yesterday on my Instagram, it seems like a lot of you are excited about this review which makes me feel so happy (and important)! 🙂 I am so thankful to have received the new Fairy Girl Liquid Lipstick Set for review. The Fairy Girl team is always so sweet and I am forever grateful for their support! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these liquid lipsticks after hearing so many great reviews! I’m going to break this review down in a few different sections so hopefully by the end of it you have a clear and concise review.
Let’s start out with the packaging! Inside this cute box is a sleeve (that slides out) of 12 beautiful liquid lipsticks! On the side of the packaging, there are hearts that have the corresponding names and shades to each tube and on the bottom of each tube are the names as well. I really like the presentation and I love that it has a slide-out sleeve because that makes for quick access and easy traveling with the whole set. I plan on keeping it for just that. The product itself comes in a nice frosted plastic tube with a standard doe foot (yes it’s spelled like that) applicator. A few of my tubes came with an air pocket in them, which is something they mention on their website that can happen, so I did what was recommended and swirled the wand a bit to clear the bubble. This created a bit of a mess around the rims on some of the shades that were more liquidy. I’m not sure if they were a bit overpoured but it’s nothing that a little cloth can’t fix. I will say that if you twist the cap on these too tight, you will start to hear a plastic cracking noise. Definitely be gentle when closing the cap! Overall, I think that the packaging is nice and I really love the size of each tube (2.4g) because I never finish a full tube of larger liquid lipsticks. These can fit in your pocket or purse easily too!
Next up, shade names. The 12 liquid lipsticks go by the names of: pink earth, faith, earthrose, autumn rose, mystic, sacred, zinrose, dark love, sophisticate, nymph, kawaii, & cherish. Having known the brand for some time now, I feel like these are all appropriate & fit their style well. They are all very zen/nature based while staying feminine and go along nicely with their corresponding shades. It’s obvious the Fairy Girl team are rose lovers, just like me! 😉
Now to the product itself, what you all are really here for! The first thing that I noticed about these liquid lipsticks was the smell. They smell like a mixture of Milani Matte Lipsticks and Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks to me, which is heavily mixed with vanilla. Now, I’m not sure that these actually contain vanilla but they do claim they contain flavor/aroma and I can only assume that is one of them. It isn’t an overpowering scent though and actually goes away within 20-30 minutes. I will also note that there is no taste to these either. Some other liquid lipsticks you can gather a bit of a taste but these you cannot. From looking at the product on the wand, I could tell that the consistency would compare to the Ofra Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks as well, and they do, but they also remind me of the Jordana Sweet Cream Liquid Lipsticks too. What I mean by that is although they are moussey and thick at first, they thin out and are a bit liquidy before drying matte. You can use just one layer of these and they are pretty opaque but using two coats is what I would recommend for the full color payoff. I don’t find them to be streaky at all although my arm swatches below might say otherwise.
Note: Not pictured above are the shades Nymph & Cherish as they were accidentally left out of the set sent to me. FG is so awesome and is sending me these shades now so I will update this post with those swatches once I have them!
I absolutely love the color-range here and I find that each shade is very unique in its own way on my lips. I will be posting a lip swatch video on my YouTube Channel very soon so be on the lookout for that (I’ll link when ready). I will go into detail on each shade in that video as well. As for the longevity of the wear, I was able to go hours, even after eating a not-so oily meal at lunch with only transfer from the inner parts of my lips. These are completely transfer proof when dry by the way. They are very comfortable to wear, almost like you are wearing nothing! After a few hours though (I’m talking 5-7), my lips started to get dry. This is normal for me whether I have something on my lips or not though so I don’t think it was the lipstick itself. As I said, super comfortable to wear and no cracks or stickiness at all when dry. I really love that every shade here is vegan because there are some beautiful mauve colors that are usually hard to obtain in a vegan formula! They also include Hawaiian kukui nut oil, jojoba oil, pomegranate sterols, and coconut fruit extract which aid in keeping your lips moisturized hence why the formula is so comfortable to wear! It might be too soon to tell, but so far these are my favorite liquid lipsticks that I have ever tried. And I’ve tried a bunch. Kudos to you Fairy Girl!
The price point of $15 for each liquid lipstick individually is pretty common given the presentation and formula. I would definitely buy replacements as needed. You can purchase the set of 12 at a discounted price of $125 or they have bundle sets too for discounted prices. Not included here are 3 special matte liquid lipstick shimmer shades that you can buy for $36. I can’t wait to try those next!
Soo at the end of the day do I think you need these Fairy Girl liquid lipsticks? Absolutely. 100% no doubt in my mind that everyone will love this formula. The whole set would suit any skin tone but if you just want to try a few at first then I recommend getting a bundle set to start out with. I’m consistently impressed with Fairy Girl as a brand and am so thrilled and honored to be a part of their journey. They have grown so much since they first started and I can’t wait to see where they go from here! Have you tried these new liquid lipsticks? What are your thoughts?
