Why hello there! Deodorant seems to be a hot topic of mine so I figured I would come back at you all with a new deo that I have been trying out lately! For those of you that have sensitive pits, listen up. Schmidt’s Deodorant has had a sensitive line for quite some time now that comes in unique scents without the irritating baking soda ingredient. Being the Meow Meow Tweet die hard fan that I am though, I knew it would take a desperate situation for me to ever look at any other deodorants. Well, that day came about a month ago. I knew that Meow Meow Tweet was on Amazon and I am a Prime member so whenever I needed to repurchase, I just had to do it two days before I was completely out. Well, the universe tricked me and of course the one time I waited until empty, Prime is no longer available. So rather than wait 14 days to receive a new Meow Meow Tweet deodorant in the mail, I decided to give the Schmidt’s Sensitive Skin Deodorant Stick a go and only wait a day to receive it. I previously compared Schmidt’s with Meow Meow Tweet but those were different versions of their deodorants so I was very curious to try this new one out.
I love the idea of a deodorant stick and Schmidt’s uses the traditional deodorant stick packaging so it’s perfect for those that are having a hard time adjusting to natural deos. I decided to go with a more floraly scent, geranium, although tea tree sounded intriguing and I wasn’t completely sure of what geraniums smelled like. Once I received my package, the first thing I did was take a big whiff. It definitely is floraly, almost like roses, but there is a nice powdery tone to it. I would say that if you are someone that isn’t a fan of powerful scents, perhaps go with the tea tree option. Unlike my Meow Meow Tweet deo, I definitely smell this on me and it is the strongest scent that carries on my body, even while wearing perfume. That took some getting used to but it wasn’t a major deal breaker for me. The real concern was whether it would irritate my skin or not.
After a week of use, I didn’t find any noticeable differences in my skin. I knew that before when I had a reaction to a new deodorant, it took at least two weeks to kick in though. So after week two when I saw my skin was still clear, I was thrilled to see that this was actually working! I love that this comes in stick form too because it is super easy to apply and I don’t give it much thought at all. I’m not itchy, which is a huge plus, but do I smell better? That question my friends, is hard for me to answer…
I definitely don’t stink.. but I’m definitely not stink-free by the end of the day or dry either. I’d say that most of the deodorant actually transfers onto my clothes more than sticking to my body. With Meow Meow Tweet, I don’t have those issues at all. I am able to sleep in the deodorant and last another day if I wanted to and I hardly sweat while wearing it. So this is a bit disappointing for me and alas the main reasons why I wouldn’t purchase the Schmidt’s Deodorant again.
Overall, I really like this sensitive skin deodorant option but it just doesn’t work with my body chemistry. Schmidt’s is definitely one of the best vegan & cruelty-free deodorant brands out there so if you feel brave enough, I highly recommend giving them a go! They also have a super cool rewards program which is a major plus. For now, I’ll stick with my Meow Meow Tweet and make sure I have a backup on hand at all times. If you have tried this stick, did it work for you? I’m curious to know other people’s experiences. Please leave me a comment below!
