Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation Review

Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation Review

Last year I wrote a review on the Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation but since then I have been using a new powder foundation that I wanted to share with you all today. The Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation isn’t new to the block necessarily but I hadn’t tried it before, so when my KVD foundation ran out, I knew I had to give this a go.  Literally EVERY product I have tried by Too Faced I have absolutely loved so I figured this wouldn’t be any different, and I was right. This powder foundation is definitely more of a lighter powder and not as full-coverage as the KVD one was. It is more of a light to medium coverage that is buildable. One thing I really love about this powder foundation is you can build and build on it and it will never look cakey. Like most Too Faced face products, this makes you look poreless, which is a major plus.

The packaging is like most powder foundations with a plastic shell, mirror, foundation, and sponge compartment below. I will say that I found this packaging to be a bit flimsy compared to their other products and the foundation dish is a bit thin so you don’t get too much product here. My KVD powder foundation started to crack after only a few uses (reason why I didn’t repurchase) and this one seems to be holding together nicely after a few months use so that’s good. The sponge that comes with this Too Faced compact is really soft and durable, which I love! It applies the foundation very nicely and I don’t find the need to use my brushes like I have with past powder foundations. The foundation itself is super silky and blends out like a dream, and did I mention, it smells like CHOCOLATE?! Too Faced utilizes cocoa powder in a ton of their products which make them all smell amazing! I love putting this on every morning mainly because of the smell. 🙂

The longevity of this foundation is pretty similar to most, it lasts a good couple of hours before it starts to fade. For me, this works just fine because I prefer little product on my face, but for some I could see them wanting to pair a liquid foundation and then maybe having this lightly on top for a longer wear. I don’t seem to have too many issues with oiliness throughout the day with this powder foundation, but I did start using it in Fall/Winter so we’ll see how it holds up in the Florida Summer. Another plus is I haven’t noticed any skin irritation or breakouts caused by this foundation. I love the smooth clear look that it gives my skin! Also, other products lay perfectly on top for a natural look, like blush & highlight!

Overall, I am a big fan of the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation and I definitely would repurchase. As of right now, there are only 8 different shades of this powder foundation and I am a perfect fit for the shade “Light.” It would be nice to see them come out with more shades and a full-coverage version of this in the future but for now this works well with my skin. You can purchase the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation at your local Sephora, Ulta, or on the Too Faced website. Have you tried this powder foundation yet? If so, what are your thoughts? 1. I love Too Faced! I’m more of a liquid cc/foundation kind of gal so I’ve been dying to try their Born This Way foundation. I love the cocoa scent of some of their stuff! So yummy!
