Happy New Year my loves! I hope that your 2018 is off to a great start so far. I figured I would carry on the tradition of sharing my favorite product of the year with you all even though this year it was REALLY tough to pinpoint. You may remember that last year I talked about the Paula’s Choice Clear Kit and the year before that, The Wonder Seed Hemp Shampoo. I still use both products daily and I think it’s important to pick a favorite that you actually use on the regular. So when I think back on all of the products I tested out in 2017, there is one product that sticks out to me. No matter how many other options I tried, I always went back to this and used it regularly. That is why I am deeming the wet n wild photofocus concealer as my favorite product of 2017. You may recall my review on their Come Correct Celebrity Concealer in 2016 which is still a fave of mine but I opted for a more natural look throughout 2017 and the photofocus concealer did just that.
If you haven’t tried this concealer yet, you’re missing out. It retails for only $3.99 and works like a charm. It definitely gives more of a natural coverage in comparison to Come Correct but if you’re like me and don’t want to wear heavy makeup on the daily, it’s perfect. The shade range isn’t the best so hopefully they expand in 2018 but the shade that I did pick up, matches me perfectly. Some days I just wear this on my face and head out for the day. There’s something about it that just makes your skin look so pretty! I haven’t found it to be drying, cakey, or creasing AT ALL so that’s a major win in my book. At that price point, why wouldn’t you give it a shot? I’ve been very impressed with wet n wild this past year and I can’t wait to see what they put out in 2018.
Now as I reflect back on 2017, I can’t help but feel guilty about how busy I was in my personal life which distracted me from my blog. I set out a lot of goals for my blog in the beginning of 2017 that I didn’t get to accomplish. I am hopeful that I can accomplish more in 2018 but I am also going to be realistic here. When I first started my blog, it was a hobby. Somewhere along the lines I started to compare myself to other bloggers and began to put too much pressure on myself to be more like them. Push out more content, make more money, turn it into a career. While I would absolutely love to make a career as an influencer, it simply isn’t the time for me right now. So I am going back to my original mindset in 2018 that blogging is a hobby for me. I feel like I will be less disappointed in myself with this mindset and be able to present to my followers content that I actually WANT to talk about, WHEN I want to talk about it. Blogging in 2017 honestly felt like a chore to me and it wasn’t fun anymore. I am hoping that this year I can get back to finding the joy in blogging and spreading the cruelty-free message. That’s what it’s about to me and that’s what I have always wanted it to be about.
So here’s to 2018 and being more authentic and true to ourselves! Not comparing yourself to others and just living and loving life as you choose. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year! You will be seeing me again soon 🙂
Note: All products mentioned above were purchased and reviewed honestly by me.
