Hi friends! I am excited to bring to you all my full review on the Paula’s Choice Clear Extra Strength Kit. I am someone who struggles with hormonal breakouts constantly. When I made the switch to vegan & cruelty-free products, I couldn’t find something that really worked to clear up my acne completely and I was left feeling a bit unconfident. Fellow vegan blogger, Jess, from @veganbeautyaddict, was constantly raving about Paula’s Choice products and how well they worked for her skin so I really wanted to give it a go myself. Thanks to her, I am now hooked! I did a mini consultation with a brand rep and they recommended different products for my skin type as well as a full scheduled routine for when to use them. I was super impressed by how thorough and thoughtful they were to do this! I always appreciate good customer service. With their recommendation, I purchased the Clear Extra Strength Kit. The bundle saved me some money so that was the best option. I was also allowed to sample 3 different products too which was great as a first time buyer!

I received my kit very quickly after ordering it online so I didn’t have to wait very long at all to start my new routine. It arrived in a very nice box along with a pamphlet that described each product and the best time and way to use them. It also included a clear sheet with labels printed for the steps and time of day (see above) so you could put it on the product tube and know what order to use them in. I really loved that they did that! I decided to modify the schedule a bit to something I knew I would stick to. For example, the Daily Skin Clearing Treatment, was recommended for both AM and PM but I knew I wouldn’t like the feeling of it on my skin during the day so I decided to only use it at night. Other things were modified along the way but this is ultimately the schedule I have been sticking to the past few weeks:

AM: Wipe face clean with Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution, Apply thin layer of Ultra-Light Daily Mattifying Fluid

PM: Wash face in shower with Pore Normalizing Cleanser, After drying face off- Wipe face clean with Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution, Follow with thin layer of Daily Skin Clearing Treatment

I have been doing this routine for the past 6 weeks and to be honest I am JUST now seeing results. It took my skin a long time to adjust to these products but no matter how lazy I got, I was determined to stick with the routine so I could give an honest review. I haven’t really ever stuck to a routine other than brushing my teeth and putting deodorant on daily, so for me, this was a big step. For the first two weeks, this kind of burned my skin and left me a bit red and irritated. New acne spots did come out but I was noticing that they were healing and going away much quicker than before. In the past 6 weeks, I have only had one major cystic acne spot which healed within 3 days. That was pretty amazing to me as anyone who suffers with cystic acne knows it can take forever to heal. I tried my best not to rub or pick at my face to help speed up the process. There were certain days where my skin looked better than others and it was exciting to start seeing results. I am on week 7 now and I can honestly say that this does work. My skin feels and looks great! Sure, it’s not absolutely perfect, but I have seen a noticeable difference. My makeup applies more smoothly now and I think overall my skin looks healthy. In my book, that is a total win! Since I feel confident enough to do so now, I am sharing these before and after photos for you to see. These are completely raw and unedited with NO makeup on. I will make note that my forehead has psoriasis and NOT acne so that has yet to clear and requires a different type of product to heal.

AFTER (6 weeks):

As you can see, my skin is not flawless but it definitely looks better than the before photos! I do have some scarring now but these products are said to help with that too so we’ll see in the long run. All of these products individually are really amazing. The formulas are all very high quality and work like any prescription strength would!

I am very pleased with my results after 6 weeks of usage and I can update you guys after 6 more weeks if you would like too! I definitely plan on using these products from here on out until my skin changes and then I will be looking into Paula’s Choice mature skin options. I have heard nothing but good things about Paula’s Choice and I can honestly say that I now understand why! These products are powerful and effective and the best part is that they are cruelty-free and vegan! Not all Paula’s Choice products are vegan though, so be sure to check out their list beforehand. Seriously though, if my review didn’t convince you, then read the other 163 5 star reviews on the Clear Extra Strength Kit!

If you are someone that suffers from acne that is moderate to severe, check out the Clear Extra Strength Kit. If you are someone that has mild acne, they make a Clear Regular Strength Kit too! Don’t have acne? No problem. Paula’s Choice has something for EVERY skin type!

Let me know if you guys have any further questions, I am happy to help! I hope you enjoyed my honest review. Thank you for reading!

  1. Great write up, and review. You’re skin definitely has done a 180, and I’m so happy for you. I know you struggled for a while. I need to post an updated skin care routine on my page. It’s crazy how some products work for some, and not others. Maybe eventually I’ll try this, but right now, my skin is looking amazing. Blessed.

    1. Thanks babe! You knew my struggle haha I am so happy this is working for me too!! I hope it keeps up 🙂
