Pacifica Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic Review

Hi loves! I am SO excited to be sharing my thoughts with you all today on the brand new Pacifica Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic. I know this review was highly requested so I will try to be as thorough as possible! Let me start out by saying that Pacifica Beauty recently launched a TON of new products that are exclusive to Ulta Beauty at this time, with this being one of them. I never saw any mention or PR on this particular product so when I randomly spotted it at a local Ulta store, I figured I would take one for the team and buy it immediately. Plus, um hello, a cruelty-free micellar cleanser?!  Heck. Yes.

The good stuff inside:

I am trying to be more conscious about what I put on my skin so I did browse the back of this first to check out the ingredients. I know that Pacifica tends to take a more natural approach with their products, so like all of their previous products, this is also formulated without parabens, SLS, or phthalates. All ingredients are vegan and most of them are plant-derived too. It’s awesome knowing that no animals were harmed in any form to make this product!

So how does it smell? Well, to me it smells very floral. There are hints of jasmine, grapefruit, rosemary, and of course, cactus water. Now I have never smelled cactus water before, so I really wouldn’t know, but to me the main scents I pick up are jasmine and grapefruit. Every nose is different though, so be sure to give it a whiff yourself in the store. The scent isn’t overbearing either so if you are someone that is sensitive to fragrances I wouldn’t be too worried.

I tested this product out a few different times in two different ways for the past few weeks. The first way I tested it out was for makeup removal. Many may think of micellar water as primarily a makeup remover and I know a lot of people asked me how it performed in that sense. I would say that it does remove makeup pretty easily but you do have to give it a few swipes. It’s not a one time swipe and then all of your makeup is magically gone kind of product. It also is NOT meant for around the eyes and actually has a “common sense” warning on the back of the bottle to not use it near your eyes. Well, I obviously don’t have great common sense or can’t read or something because I definitely put it on my eyes and it definitely burned. Oops. I guess I really did take one for the team, huh? Anywho, some may say that it’s silly to have a makeup remover that can’t go around the eyes, and I have to agree with you there. I stick to makeup remover wipes or oil around my eyes instead. So while it did do a great job of removing makeup, I wouldn’t say that is the best use for this product.

The second way I tested out this product, however, IS the best way to use this product. In my opinion, of course. When I think of Micellar Water, I think of cleanser. I am super lazy when it comes to skin care (I know, I know) and I hardly ever wash my face in the sink in the morning. I would MUCH rather rub a product on my face that cleanses it really quick and call it a day. THIS is PERFECT for that!! It literally is like taking water to your face. It is soo light and gentle and cleanses like a dream. I use it every morning right after I wake up and then go on with my normal skin routine (which is literally just throwing some moisturizer on afterwards) and my skin feels great. I don’t feel any residue like some other cleansers I have used before and this doesn’t burn either. It really does a GREAT job at lifting up any dirt too, you would be surprised! I previously used the Simple Micellar Cleanser and LOVED it, before I was cruelty-free of course, but stopped using it for ethical reasons. So now that there is a cruelty-free alternative, I am in heaven. This doesn’t irritate my skin either so no breakouts and I actually feel like it is improving my skin in some way. I feel like it is smoother, brighter, and more hydrated too. It’s AMAZING!

Soo am I fan? YES. Do I think you need to go out and buy it right now? YES. I hope you get the same awesome results I have and that you love it just as much (or maybe even a little more) as I do. You can currently purchase this at most Ulta stores and online here. Let me know your thoughts below once you do try it out and if you have any questions on this product that I haven’t covered, feel free to ask!

As always, thank you for stopping by and reading! Stay tuned for more new Pacifica goodies soon! Xo

Note: All products mentioned above were purchased and reviewed honestly by me.

  1. I saw this product in your IG feed when you bought a few goodies and I was curious! So glad you reviewed it! I seriously need to go to ULTA! Would this be similar to a toner? I’ve never used a micellar cleanser.

  2. Kinda bummed that this can’t be used around the eyes as I would want to use this for makeup remover mainly :/ oh well, great review!

    1. I know it’s a bummer! It takes off face makeup well though and then I use an oil based product for my eyes. Definitely great for travel too if you need a quick clean! 🙂 Thanks for reading!

  3. This is interesting. I don’t really wash my face in the morning, I just put cold water on it and then go with my toner and lotion…..but maybe I’ll add this in to the routine? It’s not a necessity, but I’m curious on how it would work with my skin and if it would improve it in any way.
