Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent Review

Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent Review

Happy First Day of Spring!! We finally made it! And for those of you that get to actually enjoy a Spring season, I wish you well! Here in Florida, we pretty much skip to Summer but hey, a girl can pretend it’s Spring. So naturally, I am kicking it off with some heavy Spring cleaning! Pretty much every Sunday I clean the house and do laundry. I have a few different cruelty-free brands that I love for cleaning products but my all-time fave for laundry purposes is Seventh Generation. Seventh Generation has one of the widest selections for household products than any other cruelty-free brand that I know. Sure, Method (no longer cruelty-free here’s why) has a TON of stuff too, but Seventh Generation even has baby products, feminine care products, bathroom products, etc. When it came time to switch out most of my household products, I found that Seventh Generation made the process very very easy.

In the laundry room, I have tried several of the different Seventh Generation detergents. I find that their Ultra Power Plus Fresh Scent Natural Laundry Detergent works best at lifting stains, odors, and overall, cleaning. The scent is quite lovely and has somewhat of a citrus base to it. What is best, is that it doesn’t overpower the clothes or irritate my skin. I find that my clothes feel fresher, the colors are just as vibrant, and they are very clean. It’s wonderful that there is a cruelty-free alternative that works just as well as brands like Tide, Gain, Arm & Hammer, etc.

I especially love that the ingredients in Seventh Generation products are mostly, if not all, plant-based. No harmful toxins, dyes, or synthetic fragrances are used. It is nice to know that real essential oils are what give the detergent it’s lovely scent! I also highly recommend the Seventh Generation Natural Fabric Softener Sheets for the dryer. They are made with plant-based ingredients and are compostable! They really work too. 🙂

  1. I hate to admit that I’m not great when it comes to cruelty free laundry supplies. I try, but they’re not easy to find. They’ve gotten easier though. I have used some cruelty free laundry items with varying levels of success. The cleaning is usually fine, but the scent isn’t always the best. Next time I’m out, maybe I’ll pick up the Seventh Generation! 🙂

  2. I’ve never tried this brand, but I’ve seen it and was always curious. I use Honest Company pods. Love them. I’m not a fan of scent in my detergent and the HC ones are scent free. Plus I love the little pods! 😉
