My Current Skin Care Routine

My Current Skin Care Routine

Hey guys! Today I wanted to share with you all my current skin care routine. I am really excited about this one! Since switching to cruelty-free and vegan products, I have been a little more mindful of taking care of my skin. Before I would exfoliate and cleanse everyday and occasionally do a face mask, but I didn’t realize that my skin needed more than just that. I have heard about toners and even tried a few moisturizers before, but nothing really worked for my skin. After hearing about these amazing brands over and over, I decided to take the plunge and give them a go!

So here you have it, my current skin care products that I use and my thoughts on each of them:

use

Acure Organics Argan Stem Cell + Chlorella Growth Factor Brightening Facial Scrub

Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Floral Toner

Acure Organics Oil Control Facial Moisturizer: Lilac Stem Cells + 1% Chlorella Growth Factor

My thoughts on each product:

P1020119Starting off, I heard so many amazing things about the Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub that I knew I had to give it a shot myself to see if the hype was true. I have very sensitive skin so I’m hesitant when trying anything new on my face. This stuff literally made my skin feel and look better after the first try. And I am not exaggerating. It is stocked full of amazing ingredients that help your skin help itself. In other words, it helps strip away the bad and encourage the good parts of your skin to regenerate and grow. The formula is pure genius. It is gritty to the touch yet a gentle exfoliator on your skin and smells very fresh and minty. Afterwards your skin feels amazingly clean and looks brighter. After a few uses (I have been using it for over a month now) I noticed my skin looking clearer and smoother. I haven’t had to use any acne medication since switching to this scrub which is a huge bonus to me. I doubt I will ever look at another cleanser the same way again. I am now a hugeee fan of this brand now and cannot wait to try more of their products.

P1020110After I cleanse, I “tone” my skin. This is new to my skin routine because I never really thought it was important to do. After doing a bit of research, I saw that toning your skin can help tighten, even out, and prep your skin for additional nutrients. I decided to try the Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Floral Toner specifically made for sensitive skin after the reviews intrigued me. I adore the smell of roses and this smells like such soft perfect roses which is just divine. I find that this is very light and absorbs pretty quickly without leaving any kind of heavy residue feeling at all. After a few uses I noticed my skin tone evening out on my face. My skin is smoother and more luminous as well. I have also tried their Clementine + C Illuminating Toner which smells like fresh citrus. I enjoy this toner too when I need a quick freshen up throughout the day. The 1000 Roses Floral Toner is by far my favorite. I am very pleased with this product and will continue to purchase it!

P1020117The last step in my skin care routine is moisturizing. As I said before, I have tried different moisturizers but nothing really worked with my skin. It was either too oily, made me break out, or felt really heavy. I knew that moisturizing was very important to do, especially at a young age, but was very discouraged given my previous attempts. And I mean I have tried at least five different moisturizers. When I saw that Acure Organics has an oil control moisturizer for combo to oily acne prone skin I knew I had to try it out. Upon first impressions, I hated the smell. It’s hard for me to describe but kind of reminds me of a minty-ish black licorice. I am sure it is the sage and lemongrass that I am smelling but man I couldn’t get over it for the first few days. Now, I love it. Strange huh? I look forward to putting it on everyday. It feels so cooling and light on my skin. It isn’t too greasy at all and a little bit goes a long way so it really is worth the price you pay. This stuff dries FAST so it is best when applied quickly. It is very mattifying which is great for combo/oily skin types like myself. At first I was using it as a primer too for my makeup but it doesn’t mask pores like a normal makeup primer does so the choice is up to you if that matters or not. The best part about this moisturizer? ZERO breakouts and it has even helped clear my skin up!! Talk about holy grail. I am so happy that the day has come where I can finally say I have found a moisturizer that works for me!! I highly recommend giving it a go! 🙂

So that is my current skin care routine with a few add-ins every once in awhile like eye creams, sunblocks, etc. I know that I need to start getting into serums for my face at night and using an eye cream that reduces wrinkles to ensure I have good skin in my later years but I think for now this is pretty darn good. I am in love with both of these companies now and I cannot wait to look into more that they offer. All of these products are vegan & cruelty-free and most can be found at your local Whole Foods, Target, Brand websites, or on the Vitacost website which is where I purchased mine at the best deal.
