Hi everyone! So the first product from my May Vegan Cuts Beauty Box that I wanted to review is from Pura Botanica and it is their Bath Salts in the scent “Lost in Lavender.” If you are new to my blog, please read my last post about the Vegan Cuts Beauty Box to get a little bit of a back story on how I came across this product.
This was the first product that hit me right when I opened up the May beauty box because of the amazing lavender smell! I was really excited to try this product because I had never actually tried bath salts before and I love all things lavender. If lavender isn’t your thing, they offer a bunch of other scents as well! The salts are packed in a cute little biodegradable pouch that resembles that of a tea bag (although larger) which is actually put directly into your bath water. The packaging even says “steep in bliss” how cute! I was surprised to find that not only was it full of yummy salts but also dried flowers and herbs. The salts dissolved pretty quickly for me in my hot water but I’d imagine if your water was a little bit lukewarm then they may dissolve slower. What was left in the pouch was just the herbs and flowers after a few minutes, and I actually kept soaking it with water and rubbing it on my arms and legs to get some of that amazing scent on me.
The water did have a strong lavender scent to it after the salts had steeped in which was really truly relaxing. I took my bath later in the day so I could just relax and afterwards I felt very cleansed. I highly recommend this scent for late in the day right before bed. I was a little worried about any kind of irritation to my skin because it is so sensitive but there was no redness or itchiness at all! This product, like many of Pura Botanica’s products, is made of all natural vegan ingredients and is 100% cruelty-free. It is not filled with any parabens, harsh fragrances, phthalates, or sulfates which is most likely the reason why my skin didn’t have any side effects like it would with previous non-vegan products I’ve used.
After doing some more research on the brand, I am so happy to see that the company is based out of Florida (go sunshine state!) and donates a portion of the proceeds from their best-selling hand creme to the National Save the Sea Turtle Foundation to help protect our Florida sea turtle ecosystem! I am definitely going to have to check out that product next. It is so nice to see a company that is not only making beautiful and luxurious vegan and cruelty-free products, but is also doing other things to better the environment and their community as well.
All around, I am very impressed with this company and the first product I tried from them! I am excited to try some of their other products as well. Check them out here if you haven’t already. I would love to hear your thoughts on their products once you try them or if you have tried them already!
